Holland Crocus Flower Bulbs are spring flowers that emerge like nature's jewels. These petite gems, with their delicate petals and vibrant hues, paint the landscape with a whisper of hope after the winter's slumber.

Their name, derived from the Greek word, "Krokos", symbolise both youthful joy and the saffron spice they yield. In gardens, Crocuses are a beacon of optimis, symbolising happiness and cheerfulness. These resilient flowers endure cold as well. Crocus flowers inspire us to embrace the changing seasons and cherish the moments of rebirth and renewal in life.

These can be planted in late summer for flowering in early autumn. Crocus corms have a flattened base, and slightly pointed top. They should be planted in moist, free-draining soil that has been enriched with organic compost or well rotted manure, in a summy or partially sunny site.

Things you need to know

Crocuses do best in full sun, but because they bloom early in the year with little foliage on the trees, shady spots during the summer are usually fine for spring-blooming crocuses.

They like to be watered regularly. However, let the soil dry between watering.

They bloom and survive best where winters are cold since crocus corms need 12 to 15 weeks of cold temperatures, at least 35 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, to set their blooms. Humidity usually isn't an issue, although excessive humidity can lead to rot.

Crocus plants prefer a neutral and well-draining soil. Crocuses do not like to sit in soggy soil, which can cause them to rot.
